Conservation Bank Act

Senator Campsen authored the legislation that became the South Carolina Conservation Bank Act in 2002. Since enactment the Conservation Bank has protected almost 400,o00 acres. Protected properties include Morris Island, Boone Hall Plantation, Angel Oak, Lemon Island, and Gregorie Neck.

The SC Conservation Bank continues to work to improve the quality of life in South Carolina through the conservation of significant natural resource lands, wetlands, historical properties, archeological sites, and urban parks.
